It's the beginning of June, The Band, and you know what that means? (besides "when the fuck did it become June?") TIME FOR A NEW TRACK ON OUR WORLD TOUR.

The Band Back Together World Tour, for those unaware is a joint venture spurred, in part, by something I did over on Mommy Wants Vodka. Last year, I decided that I'd had enough. Just. Enough. I was tired and unhappy and I needed to change.

Incrementally, I did just that. I began to make small, manageable steps toward change. Changing myself into the person I wanted to be, not the person I was.

It worked.

So we decided this January to do just that. Each month, we bring you a topic - food for thought, if I may (and I always may) - a minor suggestion of something that you may choose to do differently. To be better than the already-stunning individual we both know and love.

You can follow along by posting a different topic or you can use the topic we here BEHIND the scenes will be writing about.

(Oh, and we're up for Best Mental Health Blog, so if you'd like to vote for us (once per twenty-four hours), we'd be ever-so-appreciative.)

This month, we're writing about Taking Care Of Business. *strums 'Takin' Care of Business'*

Specifically, doing something you've been putting off.

I look forward to being inspired by your posts, The Band. Also: a cheeseburger.

-----------

I bought myself a steam-cleaner. I know, you're all falling asleep in your soup over there, but my carpets, as well vacuumed as they are, are white. Who the hell puts in white carpets? The answer is: not me.

Between three children, four cats and two dogs (including one puppy), my carpets have seen better days. Initially, I figured that I'd just wait and replace them when I had the money, but it turns out you can't pay for carpeting with a kidney.

So I just waited. Disgusted by my carpets.

Until I decided that I needed to stop living in tomorrow and living in today.

Which is also why I'm getting my walls painted. I'm so fucking sick of the puke-green walls that I could puke green myself. Since I work out of my house (work = watching dancing cat videos), it's safe to say I spend a lot of time here. I spend a lot of time here hating my walls and my carpeting.

So I'm hiring a painter and not looking back.

But the excitingest thing I'm doing this month is something I've talked about before: I'm finally taking Band Back Together and turning it into a non-profit.

Why? You might ask.

Because it validates us.

I easily spend 50-60 hours a week on the site. Jana does too. So does Crystal. And Dana. I have a whole HOST of people working behind the scenes to tweet your posts, get us more exposure, and put the site in front of those eyes that need it most.

What we, together, (yes, you) have done is to turn Band Back Together into so much more than a blog. We have something so unique and so powerful that I'm constantly blown away by it. This is a big deal. I hope you realize what a tremendous impact each of your stories and comments have on others.

I'm proud to say that it's time to go non-profit, The Band. Congratulations to each of you. Congratulations to us all.
